Welcome to this tutorial. First, locate the Style menu, then Select No Spacing. This will make sure your document is properly spaced. Next, locate the Font menu and change your font style to Times New Roman size twelve. Then skip three spaces and insert your address.

Skip a line, then insert the recipient's address. Please note that you should be provided with this information in advance.

If you know the name of your recipient, you may place it here. Otherwise, say Dear Donor and be sure to use a colon rather than a comma because this is a formal letter. Now you're ready to begin your first paragraph. In this paragraph, notice that you should not indent. You want to also make sure to thank the donor for the scholarship and let the donor know how you plan to use the scholarship in your next paragraph.

Personalize your Letter Let the dollar know a little bit about you and who you are and how the funding is going to make an impact.

Try to make that paragraph exciting so that the person who's providing you some funds can get to know a little bit more about you. In the final paragraph. You simply want to thank Madonna again and close.

Keep in mind that while you're thanking your donor, you are going to thank the donor for providing the funds that made the scholarship possible and not necessarily thanking them for selecting you as the recipient. In some instances, donors will make donations to the University that's used to establish scholarship, but they might not always select the student who receives the scholarship.
