Marlon Brando is widely considered to be one of the greatest actors of all time. He was born on April 3, 1924, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Marlon Brando Sr., a pharmaceutical salesman, and Dorothy Julia (née Pennebaker). His parents were of German, Dutch, English, and Irish descent. Brando had two older sisters, Jocelyn Brando and Frances Brando, and a younger sister, Christina Brando. His family moved frequently during his childhood, living in a total of at least 20 different homes by the time he was 18.

Brando's mother was a strict Methodist, and his father had great respect for Native American culture. As a result, Brando developed a strong interest in the arts, particularly acting and painting. He began taking acting classes at the Dramatic Workshop of The New School in New York City in 1943. His classmates included future actresses Stella Adler and Elaine Stritch. Brando made his stage debut in 1944 with a small role in a production of The Willow and I.

In 1945, Brando was accepted into the Actors Studio, where he studied under Stella Adler. He made his film debut in The Men (1950), playing a disabled World War II veteran. He received critical acclaim for his performance, and went on to star in such films as A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), Viva Zapata! (1952), Julius Caesar (1953), The Wild One (1953), On the Waterfront (1954), and The Godfather (1972).

Brando won two Academy Awards for Best Actor, for On the Waterfront and The Godfather. He is also considered to be one of the first method actors, having studied under Stella Adler. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest actors of all time.

Johnson was a college football player for the University of Miami, where he won a national championship on the 1991 Miami Hurricanes team. After being cut from the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL two months into the 1995 season, he began training for a career in professional wrestling, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Peter Maivia, and his father, Rocky Johnson, from whom he inherited his Canadian citizenship.
